My experience has been that filings paint the past and point to a potential future - but filings certainly do not lock in a future - management guides that more than anything else. Again, just IMHO from a Florida swamp rat who didn't know what stock or the stock market was until he was in his 30s (years, not IQ!). I want what is best for GDSM because that is what is best for me (and, hopefully, most of us), unlike some who want what is best for them and to heck with GDSM and other people.
