It doesn't matter who owns what patent in this case MDBX had no future not because someone else had a patent or a better Idea. Established vending machine companies will easily move in and take away any business from upstart wanna-be's if laws ever change to provide any kind of market for them.

The main problem is There is no demand for Pot Vending machines. In Colorado they are only legal in Medical Marijuana Dispesaries (which are relatively low volume) and because the state doesn't trust the "security" ör Identification process they require someone working for the dispensary to stand there and supervise the transaction, thus nullifying any possible savings time or personnel it is alleged they would create.

Easier to have that same person reach down into a refrigerated case behind the counter after personally verifying the person himself.

Pot machines will not exist in regular stores any more than BEER machines exist in stores, for the same reason Cigarette machines were done away with. Because they don't make economic sense, a human still has to verify their ability to make the purchase when it is an age sensitive substance
