If things are so great why did the stock crash?

This is what happens in stocks involved with stock promoters that have clever internet marketing campaigns that prey on seniors and retail investors.

1st. Lots of stocks "crash" AND THEN RECOVER.

2nd. Crashing often happens when a stock is targeted by those with a vested interest in driving the price down. These organized efforts are often followed by the stock being bashed on message boards. Such efforts are commonly known as short and distort campaigns.

3rd. Unfortunately, this time those efforts were much more successful than they should have been because management changed the testing parameters for Cohort 2 without informing their investors. Not providing a PR when that decision was made to change the testing parameters, was a foolish and amateurish mistake that resulted in a serious loss of credibility for management.

4th. While certain facets of management's business acumen are now in question, the science should not be in question, at least not yet. Both cohorts have achieved their primary endpoint. The secondary endpoints cannot be judged at this point due to the aforementioned change in the testing parameters. However, absent further surprises from management, Cohort 3 results should confirm the positive signs of efficacy seen from Cohort 1. Maybe not, but I doubt any of the longs who post here will be foolish enough to sell before those Cohort 3 results are in. November is not that far away.

There is risk but the potential reward is great. ICPT's market cap proved the very substantial market potential for NASH. And ICPT's drug candidate will probably not be the preferred treatment if both drugs make it to market. ICPT has a 6 billion dollar market cap primarily due the potential for a NASH treatment. Even a fraction of that attributed to GALT would be a huge multiple of today's share price. Again, November is not that far away.
