Danny Murphy dead: Quadriplegic actor who starred in There's Something About Mary dies aged 58

Actor Danny Murphy - known for his roles in There's Something About Mary and Kingpin - has died aged 58.

Murphy - who became a quadriplegic at the age of 19 following a diving accident - lost his battle with cancer in Florida on Friday.

He appeared in a number of comedy films by the Farrelly brothers - and director Peter Farrelly lead the tributes to his friend.

In a strange twist of fate, he said Murphy died on the exact date of his diving accident 40 years ago.

Farrelly told the New York Daily News: "Every time he was on the set he was just a ball.
