Lions Gate higher after profit beat • 10:45 AM

Lions Gate (LGF +4.3%) saw revenue fall off more than expected during its FQ1, but made up quite a bit of ground with lower marketing and distribution costs.

Revenue from the company's TV segment was down for the period due to timing issues with episode deliveries.

Shares of LGF are higher on the day to a move to a level that factors in a takeover premium or another smash franchise hit.
