You beat me to it. I was going to comment on the general positives to longs when a stock is heavily shorted. I could not have done any better. Loved your post. Really good information. Thanks for the included links.

Strategically, if I had taken a short position in NNVC when it was in overbought territory, I would now be covering and taking profits while it is in oversold territory. To cover, shorts need to buy shares, and this helps to drive the price up. Incidentally, shorts often have a smoothing effect on market volatility by selling when the market is frothy (overbought) and buying when the market is anxious (oversold).
