Those were generally part of the traditional mutual fund industry and usually don't apply to individual company stocks or ETFs. Mutual funds still look at three digits to the right of the decimal in fractional shares when buys, dividend reinvestments or sells take place.

Rounding to the nearest share for stocks and ETFs works and as Toof mentioned, AIM will take care of any minor differences in the next trade.
