Here is some Bio on Douglas W. Freitag:

Doug is just more than a person that can get government funding for 3DIcon. please take time to read and absorb his life accomplishments, and skills.

Douglas W. Freitag brings 30 years of experience in commercializing new technologies and Federal business development. He is the owner of Bayside Materials Technology, a company established in 1994 to help clients identify and commercialize new technologies. Clients range from Small Business, Academia, Non-Profits, Investment Firms, and Large Corporations, both in the US and abroad. Services provided range from scouting new technologies, identifying Federal funding and early adoption opportunities, developing proposals, supporting awarded projects, and commercializing new technologies. Mr. Freitag serves as the Technical Director for the US Advanced Ceramics Association.

The primary focus is on technologies still in the discovery or early adoption phase of commercialization. Technical competence includes: advanced materials, electronics, photonics, power and energy, biotechnology, tribology, renewable resources, sensors, coatings, manufacturing technologies, military systems, and others. Expertise exists in working with all Branches and Agencies of the Federal Government.

Mr. Freitag's work ethic is a result of being raised on a 4th generation grain and livestock farm in Central Illinois. His education includes an A.A.S. in Automotive Technology and B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University where he graduated with highest honors and participated in the co-operative engineering program at Ford Motor Company. Upon graduation, Mr. Freitag was first employed at the Bendix Advanced Technology Center, a unique center of innovation established to create future products for aerospace electronics, automotive, and industrial markets. Following that he worked at LTV Aerospace and Defense (now Lockheed Martin) in various engineering and management positions while developing new materials for future military platforms. Mr. Freitag received several awards while at Lockheed Martin for his contributions, including the creation of a new generation of missile radome material (IRBAS) still in use today.

He has published and presented over sixty papers in advanced materials, issued several patents, organized and chaired numerous technical sessions at national meetings, and participated in various government panels in support of the advanced materials industry. Mr. Freitag is a member of MRS, ACeRs, ACS, IEEE, NDIA, SAMPE, and ASM. He has a secret level Security Clearance.
