i think cm provides an eloquent narrative for those whose wave world view fell apart when ss departed. cm seems to say that "we may have been wrong but factors beyond wave's control explain ss' failure. otherwise we mostly had things right." pride restored.

it's a difficult story to sell to folks whose scepticism was confirmed by ss' removal. for them, ss manipulated investors to sell stock. some folks assisted ss in the manipulation. he couldn't make money etc. the removal of ss was the crystallisation of the failure for which he was responsible.
