That's not actually true in any way. I'm not saying that this will get acquired by the Canadian entity because that story is getting spurious after a month of no news. However, it is about the trading of the company buying AEGY not AEGY itself because that entity would disappear. It would certainly put a red flag on the Canadian company and they would be open to scrutiny but I don't know of any regulation stopping a Canadian company from acquiring a US company that has been halted.

The other alternative is that the Canadian company could acquire the intellectual property and book of business but that would leave AEGY shareholders in a hole because I'm guessing it's not worth much.
