Its important to remember

1) This wan an open label trial ..as opposed to double blinded ( the gold standard )
2) the were using low dose simavastain ...not the strong kind of Stains like Crestor we use today
3) 68% of the patients were postmenopausal Japanese women ...not representative of the US population .
4) The stat you are quoting , I think ,is for the sub group of high TG/low HDL
