I fully expected John Pentony to update the website
to include the Medicare laws that will go into effect in October, under the "Hospital Acquired Infections in the news" portion of the site.

It seems to me that the laws about HAI's are just as important as the Outbreaks of HAI's.

The volume on Monday shows NO indication of news today, but that does not completely rule out the possibility of some news today.

I thought the Medicare news from Goforthebet would have spurred some buying on Monday. I actually considered buying more myself. The reason is simple, regardless of laws, people still don't follow rules like they should. They are in a rush, they are sloppy and often work in a HEARD MENTALITY.
Hospitals are good examples. There are so many workers who don't value the wisdom of others that they do as they please. A good example is going to McDonalds in your scrubs to get some lunch. You are carrying all the germs on your scrubs and you might not have even washed your hands as you leave the hospital.

Just imagine the germs in less developed countries if we don't follow the rules in the USA. Also think about the US Disease Labs transporting known pathogens without proper protocol.

If highly trained specialists can make these mistakes, how can we trust low level Hospital workers?

The other incidents reported by the CDC:
In 2006, the CDC’s bioterror lab transferred anthrax DNA to outside labs, believing the sample had been deactivated
Also in 2006, samples from a different CDC lab were found to contain live botulism bacteria
Researchers sent an infectious strain of the bacterium Brucella to outside laboratories as early as 2001 because they mistook it for a vaccine version; newly available test methods in 2009 confirmed it was not.
