Marvel’s Stan Lee Breaks Into Children’s Books with ‘Dex T-Rex’

"Stan Lee, the writer and producer behind Marvel Comics’ Iron Man, Thor and Spider-Man, has been keeping busy on a new project: children’s books.

His imprint, Stan Lee’s Kids Universe, will soon release “Dex T-Rex, the Mischievous Little Dinosaur” by Katya Bowser. The book will be unveiled at Comic-Con in San Diego this week.

Lee called his work in children’s books a “public service,” as many of his comic books don’t directly address the under-10 demographic.

“Here we don’t really have bad guys like in the comic books,” Lee said. “We have characters that may do things a little bit wrong, and they learn how to make up for whatever little mischievous thing they may have done. It’s simple entertainment and a simple moral.”

Lee will appear at Comic-Con, which begins on Wednesday. Even though most fans want to hear about the latest superheroes and villains, some will also bring their kids in tow.
“We’re hoping these chidlren will love what they see,” Lee said."
