Hi Clive

I started with 50% cash YEARS ago and ran out of cash in 2003 and 2009. Yes I also own some individuall stocks and yes some went out of business or are deep divers but I am still below 50% cash at the present time.

I would be happier with greater than 50% cash at the present time.

So yeah I would tend to use the higher individual stock cash reccomendation for funds also.
