What one hopes for is that it puts pressure on the company's to come up with different terms. If we don't have some big shareholders behind us on that thought - then game over.
You don't have to tender your shares. The end result will still be the same. They will have to pay out cash for all shares and it's the same amount tendered or not. Tendering is a numbers game to see ahead of time where they sit.
