IMO it is a very good thing. In my DD on him he was not a manager - he was a negotiator for business development deals (and he had some success primarily due to working within a company that already had steady revenue / cash flow).

I think from a day-to-day management perspective he was over his head as a CEO. Other thing to consider is that PAR might not have liked him much. Things could turn interesting here.
