My first clue was looking at Adler's background. Then Tuffin's. Then the fact that they were operating out of an executive suite and they claimed their server had "broken down" or something like that because of high volume of activity.

It was really just one after another in terms of clues. After those initial ones though my mind was made up. This thing never resembled a legitimate company at any time.
