The volume RIGHT AT the close could be due to Russell 2000 index funds buying. The index funds don't try to beat the market, the try to track the index. They are not speculators or traders looking for the LOD. They try to buy as close to the close as they can.

If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
