This analysis definitely needs some work... but speaking to what I know from my own job...

I am a Covidien rep, covering advanced energy (Ligasure vessel sealers and Sonicision ultrasonic dissection)...

Your claims of the FIRST EVER "smokeless" advanced energy system could not be more wrong. There have been multiple systems that have been marketed as smokeless over the years, but what anyone that has sold these products will tell you is that all of them produce some sort of vapor plume. In the case of the current lines of advanced bipolar systems (ie. Ligasure and Enseal)plume is created in the form of water vapor, not actual smoke, but is still visible. Ultrasonic devices (ie. Sonicsion and Harmonic) also create vapor plume and some smoke because they dissect by super heating and vaporizing tissue. And considering all forms of advanced surgical energy operate based on one of those forms of technology. I sincerely doubt that TRXC have developed an entirely new technology under the noses of Covidien or Ethicon without them knowing or being acquired. Those two giants of that $2 billion dollar industry, as you put it, have a reputation for gobbling up start-ups that pose any threat to their AST business, whether it be energy or endomechanical.
