Unisys to compete to provide a full range of solutions and services for IT integration, software development, and operations and maintenance
BLUE BELL, Pa., June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Unisys (NYSE:UIS) was selected as one of several prime contractors by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to compete to provide a range of information technology services under the EAGLE II contract, which has a $22 billion contract ceiling.
Under the contract, Unisys and other EAGLE II contract awardees will compete for task orders covering numerous IT services for DHS under the Unrestricted Track of Functional Category 1, Service Delivery, including integration; software design and development; and operations and maintenance. The contract follows DHS' original EAGLE contract, a vehicle under which Unisys provided services to agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The EAGLE II contract, expected to serve as the vehicle to provide the vast majority of IT services to DHS and its component agencies, has a ceiling value of $22 billion over a five-year base period, followed by one two-year option period.
Unisys previously provided IT services under the predecessor EAGLE contract. For example, Unisys was selected by CBP as the prime contractor for its award-winning Land Border Integration project, work that was awarded under the EAGLE contract.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to continue to support the Department of Homeland Security in its critical mission to protect the U.S. homeland and its citizens," said Steve Soroka, group vice president for Homeland Security, Unisys Federal Systems. "As a leading provider of mission-critical services and solutions to the federal government, Unisys is prepared to help the department achieve its goal of performing its mission more efficiently while reducing costs."

Forward-Looking Statements
Any statements contained in this release that are not historical facts are forward-looking statements as defined in the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. All forward-looking statements rely on assumptions and are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. Under Indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts like the EAGLE II contract, there is no guarantee that the government will award any task orders to any of the contract holders. Therefore, the ceiling value of the contract is not a guaranteed amount. Further because agreements with government agencies are terminable before the end of their terms and are subject to the availability of appropriated funds, there is no guarantee that the IDIQ contract or any task order awarded under it will continue for its full term. Additional discussion of factors that could affect Unisys future results is contained in periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
