Often when it comes to talking about the mets farm we talk about the pitchers on the come. And although these players are little further away I want to talk about the 5 best hitting prospects on the mets in my opinion.

In No particular Order.

1) Kevin Plawecki- If Travis D'arnuad Fails, which so far quite frankly he has, but it is still too early to give up on him. Plawecki is the catcher on the come. He is currently in Double A hitting 318 with 13 XBH. He doesn't draw enough walks in my opinion with his 348 OBP. But he seems to be a solid offensive catcher that continues to climb, with any luck he will reach triple A soon. He is a solid prospect, and could possibly be the catcher of the future if anything he will probably be knocking on the door in 2015 ready to provide competition to Travis D'arnuad. If I were the mets I wouldn't spend money upgrading this position in 2015. Because your hoping one of these two guys develop in the catcher of the future in my opinion.

2) Dominic Smith- The possible 1b of the future, although he is years away in low Full A savannah right now. I'm hoping they realize that they need to sign a guy in the off season that can start at 1b for the next couple of years, because I don't believe Duda is a good starting 1b going foward. Dom Smith is hitting 269/337 in Low A ball. What makes it impressive is his age. he is doing this at 18 years old the leagues is several years older. He has alot of potential, but as I said he is years aways. Probably about 3 years away at this point. Wish the mets would realize Duda not the answer and spend some money on Morales who is still out there he would fit so nicely behind wright.

3) Brandon Nimmo- This guy has been drafted 3 years ago, and has only turned 21 just recently. He is in High A Ball and is a OBP machine, I personally feel very good about him becoming a starting OF for the mets in 2016. Won't be Surprised to see him and Herrea teammate) get the call up to double A at some point this season. In My opinion the two I believe most certain of will have and impact in the majors.

Take a look at Nimmo Numbers 345 Ba 477 OBP 8 SB 46 run scored in 48 games and 14 XBH at the top of the order. That is what I like to see from a top of the order hitter. Gets OBP and has some pop as well.

4) Dillson Herrea- This is the main guy the acquired in the Byrd Trade last year. Loved the trade when it went down, because I loved this guy. He is only just turned 20 in High A ball which is young, especially considering he might be in double A not before long. He can Play 2B well, he can also play a little SS.

Herrea is Hitting 333 with a 375 OBP scoring 39 run in 48 Games, as he is also the other part of the top of the order with Nimmo in high A ball. He has also stolen 11 bases, and 15 XBH as well which is surprising power for this Smaller guy. I personally think he will be murphy replacement in 2016 when Murphy costs too much.

5) Gavin Cecchini- The SS at Low A ball. Finally looks like it is figuring it out. He has picked it up of late his BA is 268/335 OBP his number though have been up lately though. He is a SS at 20 Years old. He has stole 6 bases, and has 15 XBH so he has hit the ball hard. Still need to see more on him, but finally starting to show signs like a 1rst round draft pick is supposed to that was taken 12 over in 2012 draft.

In my opinion these are some of the young Guys that intrigue me in the mets system. Obviously all these guys aren't going to work out, but these are the best prospect the mets have. And I think All 5 have potential to be solid starter in the bis. Always nice once in a while to talk about what is to possibly look foward to in the future for your favorite team Every fan should take a look at your top 20 prospects it is fun to watch them, as some climb and some don't through the system. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
