Using direct mail to huge numbers of random households (like mine!) assures the SEC and postal authorities notice it and also lots of bashers who are infuriated when scams enter their mailboxes. Big risk of the SEC intervening.
Penny scams by conventional mail are very rare. I used to get them by fax occasionally but those have died out too.
Problem is... EVERYTHING in Pennyland is dying. LOL
