REPOST FOR NEWBIES: Eco-Tek Lube Centers

I asked Steve to confirm or deny my theory and have not yet heard back from him on this. He's answered other questions, but not this one. So I'm even more convinced I'm right.

HOLY CRAP - I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING

Look at the Eco-Tek Lube Center Locations:

NOTE THE 6 MEINEKE CAR CARE centers.

See this PR:
WOODBRIDGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb 27, 2014) - Eco-Tek Group Inc. (ETEK) is pleased to announce the signing of the first six Eco-Tek Lube Centers. The Eco-Tek Lube Center System is a banner program designed to help garage owners and auto centre owners promote the environmental and performance benefits of synthetic oil while increasing their sales and especially their profits. "Eco-Tek provides an attractive awareness program that assists owners in proving to their customers that using Eco-Tek synthetic products not only help the environment, they also enhance performance while saving the motorist real money," stated Mr. Maurizio Cochi, Vice President, Dealer Systems. "We expect to have over 30 program participants in our Toronto area pilot project by this summer. We hope to kick-off a national program later this year."

I'm betting Meineke is the pilot project!!!

THERE ARE 30 MEINEKE LOCATIONS IN ONTARIO
http://www.meineke.com/locations/on/

MEINEKE HAS 900 SHOPS!!!!!
Since our first Houston, TX, location got up and running in 1972, we’ve worked to create a network of friendly, locally-owned shops led by true car care pros. Today, we’ve got a line-up of over 900 shops from coast-to-coast all working hard to accomplish the same goal: helping you drive

Wrap-Up
It makes total sense. Large companies don't like to have that type of thing known by competitors. If the program succeeds they'll want to be first to roll it out to their other shops and offer a competitive advantage. Again, 900 shops!!!

Those smaller shops on their list would not care if they were named, and they wouldn't be involved in a "Pilot" program. That's usually reserved for large companies with many locations.

Deal on the merits of the company, not on the hopes or fears of the inexperienced.
