Not so sure about:

Back of my mind, the time delay for partners would indicate that they don't quite see the near-monopoly first jump advantage, as likely reflected in buy-in price (astronomical) demanded by the Peregrine BOD.

You could be right that they don't see it (yet) or they could have seen it.

the question remains then why don't we see any signs of it. It will all depend on how this is handled. As a BP I wouldn't want to end up in a bidding war. So maybe I can talk with some befriended BP's (is there is such thing).

However, that will not cut the cake as you only need one rebel in the basket. Furthermore, as the matter may have existential implications, what if at the last minute one would infringe some kind of 'unwritten' bidding agreement. All to risky.

And then you never know if those new kids on the block (Calico, B&MGF) or non Pharma/Biotech dependant players such as Johnson & Johnson for whom Janssens Pharma is only a small entity in their global corporation, will be in.

That makes me say that such negotiations with PPHM would, certainly on BP side, be kept as silent as possible. The leaks would have to come from PPHM and there will certainly be non-disclosure agreements.

We can tunr this up side down, but by know it is clear that PPHM, the closely involved Science community (UTSW), the KOL's, some analysts and we know what we have. Then I think BP will too, even thought Wall Street seems to limp behind.

So sooner or later this will pop. Something tells me sooner and I'll frame it in SK's indicated time-frame. This year.

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals the Microsoft of Biotechnology! All In My Opinion. I am not advising anything, nor accusing anyone.
