Actually it's idiotic parents who think they know better than educators on how to teach their own children when those parents are clueless. Common Core has been made the bogey man because parents have no idea on how to teach math. In developed countries American adults are ranked third to last in math comprehension yet some of those parents are saying let's keep the decision at the state level where teaching math has failed for so long. Thankfully in our State we tend to listen to educators and that's why our students are number one in the US and also when compared to other students of other countries we are # 2 worldwide and also #6 in reading comprehension.
