Wear Issues with DME pump.

This is the summary of a Chinese White paper discussing the problems with the existing common rail fuel systems (2012).

Summarize
The worldwide research results show that DME as an alternative fuel of diesel is potential. To develop
DME fuel system, the key point, we should solve the leakage of fuel, the wear and lubrication problems
of precision parts. Second, we need develop the fuel supply device, according to the characters of
DME that high compressibility and large pressure changes with temperature. Though the comparison
of different supply systems, we know that the common rail fuel systemis more suitable for DME engine.
The electric-controlled common rail system of DME fuel supply will be a development direction in the
future. For the wear and leak problems of DME engine injection system, much progress has also been
made abroad
. With further research, the DME engine will come true.

It makes a case (I'm hoping the "much progress is being made abroad refers to AFTC..I'm not aware of any significant progress being made with a JP-8 or DME compatible pumps from other companies, certainly none with Army contracts being negotiated)...it makes a case that the inherent problems with pre-AFT pumps are suffered by all... which begs the question: "Has everyone been waiting for this problem to be resolved before moving in a larger way toward DME as a diesel replacement fuel?"

If that is the case..their wait may soon be over.

I continue to question if i am thinking big enough when it comes to the potential of this company.

We should soon know, or have a very firm grasp on the future of AFTC.

GLTA

I wax philosophical here (IMHO) But the comment I received from the head of the International DME Association that we could expect announcements about developments with DME as a North American Transportation Fuel in the next few months (comment was about a month ago) does seem to coincide with news we may hear from AFTC. I continue to point to the fact that The IDA lists only AFTC as involved in the use of DME with their "robust" common rail pump.

If, and yes it is an IF...the AFT DME/JP-8 compatible pump has been the missing link in a general adoption of these ;low lubricity fuels. Be may be getting a lot more than we had hoped for. And AFT will not just be a BIG DEAL in R&D... It will be a BIG DEAL in the next BIG THING - DME.

IMHO

Until I find something, anything, to the contrary..I think this will be amazing, game changing, far reaching, global, and fast tracked.

The implications of the profound environmental benefits from AFTC;s work, IMHO, already makes this compamy "too big to fail". And it won't. It can't.

IMHO! It's an opinion piece...clearly! LOL

Is anyone reading this stuff? Is this a message board or an oil painting ta dum dum...

GO AFTC! The best is yet to be!!!

"AFT Sea" Whoot!~

In the near future, there will be two types of investors; those who understood the potential of AFTC ... and those who wish they took the time to understand the potential of AFTC.
