Driving just using a rear view mirror may be a bit dangerous.
[I apologize in advance if this is maddening and will desist if you wish but you seem to be a reasonable fellow, MTM.]
Of course the past weighs heavy on the future but it is the present and future that matter most. Those, like myself, with too much age and little future should know that best but seldom seem to.
Imagine if you will, longterm investors who think that if you make money on more than one investment in ten, you are not taking enough risk and robbing the future. There were such investors and their returns made Warren Buffett seem like a hopeless, piddling amateur. You can look up American Research and Development to verify this but even easier is to remember all the stocks you dumped too early if you have been at this for awhile that could have made very wealthy. If you have not had such stocks, maybe you should look into avoiding buying stocks at all.
IMHO future cars will be fueled with biomass or other waste materials instead of fossil fuels or batteries but I do not pretend to know if Cyclone will ever get one on the road if I am right.
For sure Harry Schoell's invention was found wanting.
