There are others who can speak the the nature of how Volvo ended up with another pump... But of interest, I did correspond with someone at Volvo through an email address I saw on a press release asking if they had to add oil wit their current pump and they do. Whether that means they will find the new improved AFTC pump more to thier liking. I can't say. Removing the need to add lubricant..or some such improvment, that elliminates the inherent wear and leakage to the pump and components when using a low lubricity fuel like JP-8 and DME is why this pump is so groundbreaking and what the Army sought to remedy with the new equipment developed at AFT.

Whatever the reason befored.. Noone else makes this pump now...business is business and It would be great to see them on board.
