SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Among the companies whose shares are expected to see active trade in Wednesday's session are Boeing Co.(BA), Apple Inc.(AAPL), and Facebook Inc.(FB)

Boeing (BA) is projected to report first-quarter earnings of $1.56 a share, according to a consensus survey by FactSet.

Apple (AAPL) is expected to post second-quarter earnings of $10.19 a share when it reports after the bell. "In our view, the ramp of the iPhone 6 (4.7-inch and 5.5-inch "iPhad"-like device) and iWatch in the second-half of calendar year 2014 are more important than Apple's(AAPL) fiscal second quarter 2014 performance and potentially soft fiscal third- quarter 2014 outlook. We also expect Apple(AAPL) to increase its return of cash to shareholders," said analyst Brian White at Cantor Fitzgerald in a note.

Facebook (FB) is forecast to report earnings of 24 cents a share in the first quarter. Facebook(FB) is reporting after the market closes. "We think 1Q advertising revenue has potential to exceed consensus expectation of $2.13 billion. We believe FB continues to grow market share and a change in algorithm during the quarter also helped," said Arvind Bhatia at Sterne Agee.

Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) is likely to post first-quarter earnings of 29 cents a share.

Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) is expected to report first-quarter earnings of 70 cents a share.

General Dynamics Corp. (GD) is projected to post $1.64 a share in the first quarter.

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC) is forecast to post first-quarter earnings of $2.15 a share.

Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) is likely to report third-quarter earnings of $1.02 a share.
