I wouldn't dismiss Dr Nissen .
He was commenting on dietary supplement fish oils I believe .

If you read his research you'll see he agrees with JL on inflammation being a major risk factor .
His view is that CVE risk is lowered more by lowering CRP ( inflammation ) then LDL...at least for those on max Statin therapy.

However he's not convinced that lowering TG's has much benefit for most ...altho what I read wasn't very specific .

By the way ..this new Epanova trial doesn't start enrolling until May ..from what I remember from Clinical Trial .Gov site
