I just read an interesting article in the AAII journal about human judgement vs using a model for investing. It wouldnt surprise anyone here that using a model or plan leads to higher returns, even between an expert and a model.

One passage I found interesting is

" the issue is that humans are unable to limit tinkering with the model. The evidence from academic research suggests that the number of incorrect modifications experts impose on a model outnumbers the number of correct modifications "
