Well said. I think there's no such thing as a "pure" comparison anymore. The "xx nanometer" number has been getting increasingly meaningless for the last 10 years and it's getting ridiculous below 20. The reality is that process complexity is rising so much that it can't be captured in a single number anymore, so marketing is taking over. Like TSMC calling their 22nm-generation process "20nm" and the 3D-version of that "16nm". Sure you can label some other process tweak "14nm" or "10nm", but what are we even talking about at this point?
