"We were looking for a reliable, turnkey broadcast solution that could be used at several of our sporting venues, offering the same level of quality that's delivered by professional sports broadcasts," said Dan Skendzel, Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Digital Media and Branding at the University of Notre Dame. "Level 3's VenueNet Lite solution allows us to use our existing campus fiber network to connect three of our athletic venues and our on-campus studio – all without the need for satellite trucks."
"When it comes to sports, if you can't be in the stadium cheering for your favorite team, the next best thing is to watch it live on TV," said Mark Taylor, vice president of Media and IP Services at Level 3. "Through Level 3's Vyvx VenueNet Lite service, Notre Dame fans can enjoy the best possible viewing experience for all home football and hockey games, as well as other programming featuring coaches, analysts and fans."
The Vyvx VenueNet Lite service provides a centralized solution for colleges and universities that uses existing fiber infrastructure to connect all major sports locations on the campus – expediting the video feed booking process and eliminating the need for satellite trucks. The service is supported by a 24x7 operations team. Universities currently using the service include the University of Arizona, the University of Florida, Arizona State University, Clemson University, Oregon State University, the University of Nebraska and the University of Oregon.
