What about this merger news that already hit? Does no one care that the merger partner was arrested on serious fraud charges?

JACO, COSTA RICA, (WZZM) -- Most of the alleged victims in a million-dollar fraud case in Costa Rica are from West Michigan; it's a story the WZZM 13 Watchdog team first told reported Wednesday.

46-year old Patrick Hundley is accused of defrauding at least five people who invested millions of dollars on a piece of property in Jaco, Costa Rica.

As the owner of DayStar Properties, Hundley builds luxury condos. One of his most recent projects includes a piece of property known as Miro's Mountain. Sources say Hundley got investors to pay $7.9 million for the land, but they never received their shares.

Four of the alleged victims are from Michigan. They include Dag Hascall, owner of Hascall Streel in Grandville and Robert Sweezie, owner of ITS Communications in Grand Rapids. Sources tell us the other two alleged victims are the owner and
chief financial officer of Royal Oak Industries in Bloomfield Hills, Dan Carrol, and Terry Fiscus. All know Hundley from doing business with him in West Michigan.

Hundley is now facing charges of fraud and mismanagement of corporate affairs. He was arrested in Costa Rica in February and remains in jail. This week, bail was set at $3 million.
