That is $2.60.

Unless this is a Market Maker signal, and it is likely that it is not . . . . .

Accounts get closed — all of the time due to death, divorce or other legal orders from unfriendly judges. Bankruptcies, etc..

Or it could be someone — who is JUST PLAIN FED UP WITH LOSING MONEY on penny stocks.

YOU CANNOT CLOSE AN ACCOUNT WITHOUT SELLING EVERY POSITION IN IT.

That is just the way things work. OK ?

When you gotta sell the entirety of an account, you gotta — and you cannot leave 100 shares of a stock worth 13¢ — in the account — and tell eTrade, "tough noogies" .

It does not work that way.

If you leave the 13¢ worth of stock in the account, YOU WILL KEEP GETTING AN ACCOUNT STATEMENT FROM eTrade, EVERY MONTH, showing that 13¢ worth of stock. I know, because I have been getting statements, in perpetuity, from Fidelity, showing a single position ( which could not be sold due to unusual circumstances ) which is worth a buck or two. THE ACCOUNT WILL NEVER CLOSE. I hate Fidelity, so I let them keep doing this. Their stamp, not mine.

Ask more questions if you want further clarification.

IF YOU LEAVE 13¢ worth of stock in an account — when you close it — the account will never close. Period. Case closed, and it does not matter to eTrade, or anyone else, that you will pay a $7.95 commission to sell 13¢ worth of stock.

Again, death or divorce are two typical things that cause the complete closing of an account. The 2000 Tirex shares could have been bought in 1999, for $2.00 share (or more), and need to be sold now, due to a court order. At least someone can take a loss on their taxes . . .
