ATHX is a good little company and I have high hopes for it in the long term. There is a blogger with a large following who reportedly has a very large share in the company. He (reportedly)suffered huge losses in the stem sector bust a few years ago and continued to hold...rookie mistake. Anyway, he has a huge following of naive investors and pumps the hell out of this company - like it's the second coming or something. He has raised the hopes of newbies beyond anything ethical - hinting of Pfizer buyouts on good news, saying company should be $100.00/share by the end of this year.(I actually think this is reasonable long term sp if stroke results are good). It's awful to watch - but he does have an effect. He works the vulnerable psychology of the new investor and when someone gives a more reality based assessment he writes a wordy response and labels them a short and his followers respond emotionally - because that's how they invest - because they don't know how to invest - which will eventually get most of them crushed...Anyway - those followers made up the bulk of the irrational responses.
And you, on the other hand, for your first foray into this sector, chose uncannily well. You might end up being that outlier if you hold long enough - that person who made one small high risk biotech investment and received huge payoffs.
