One can only hope. But I respectfully disagree with your statement that GE is safe bet like buying US Treasuries. GE used to be that company and investment prior to 2001 when Jeff Immelt took over, and GE had weathered the market meltdown of 2000 quite well when he came on board. But by any yardstick, longer term GE holders have not fared at all well under Immelt. I realize that shorter term holders who bought down in single digits or in the teens of late are beaming. I saw many positives in a detailed reading of the Annual Report, but there were some clear negatives, and GE has not perfomed well in a comparative basis over the 5, 10 and 15 year trailing periods.

But, here's to $30 in June, which would help get a lot of long term holders a bit closer to being back nearer to break even.
