False alarm, according to a wsj 2011 article in which it was claimed that Mountain Pass is at over 2000 miles elevation from sea level, the Resource Capital acquisition of Goldman's stake was explained, which in turn explains why they have revealed the option to sell part or all of their stake.

This raised some dander on the yahoo board.
