Hi, Pennypicker.

You can be killed by a pebble or a boulder but a sane man fears a boulder more. AC is more deadly than DC. It repulsed people when Edison used an aging, sick elephant to make his point and Tesla won the PR war.

My son is an EE. Only weird people understand electricity so I managed to inveigle my son into hearing a talk and seeing some actual power buoys used to generate electricity. The patents mostly involved AC/DC conversions and even my weird son got dizzy with the process.

As a for instance, hooking up the power buoys inline with DC made varying power ouput in AC for transmission a non-issue but AC and DC transmission to shore had differing advantages and disadvantage.

If you want to kill elephants, AC is very advantageous but is not likely appreciated by elephants.

If you feel Nikola Tesla was just someone Edison fired you might want to check your history.

My dear sir, I do not call scientists giants lightly and Tesla was certainly one but he was not greater than Edison and not a better man.

Edison overcame enormous learning handicaps, like Einstein, to become an historic legend and Tesla castigated him for those qualities. Both men were probably autistics though people suffering from the lesser Asperger syndrome are wont to claim Edison and even declare themselves autistic.

Edison also hired Tesla and never denied Tesla's genius.

Why does this matter to CYPW?

Well you see CYPW is involved in the electricity generating business or, more precisely, intends to be. It will be helpful if they know what they are doing in that without having the steep learning curve they have had with mechanics.

Best, Terry
