<<Been watching the oil ETFs, DXO, someone wanted to buy this one at $ 1.00, think if it gets this low, they just might suspend it altogether.>>
i was the one that threw out the 1 dollar bit( Could 25 Crude bring it to 1?--do not know)

But, as it is an ETN and NOT a ETF, if it shutdown, it would be a total loss of investment, nothing is returned.

ETFs will and often DO shutdown when assets drop below 50million, as it is NOT worth it for them to maintain, but they return the investment at whatever it's present value at time .
here is a discourse on DX0

To his question could DXO go to ZERO?? Answer is yes.If it miss plays it's futures it could go bust.

i do hold 4k shares at 3.30, being fully cognizant of that--- dead honesty(my nature being as blunt as sledge hammer), am i playing the remote possibility we have a Crude Distribution Disruption?
Yes i am, of course. Max

<<The other side of this is that the actual supply/demand ratio does not directly control the price of DXO; that is the result of the futures market. Futures prices are the result of speculation- what commodity traders think will happen. While these guys are not always right, they do have more experience, tools and information available to assess supply/demand than we do, and usually respond to the ratio they think is coming. But again, in a wilder market, their accuracy suffers and volatility increases.

I think DXO is a moderate risk with very high potential return, in turbulent and thus dangerous times- when it's hard to make money. It is possible for DXO to go to zero, something true of all investments. Is the risk 1%? 5%? More? I don't know, but I've taken my estimate into account and have my own bail-out point established if needed. Each investor has to make their own assessment of risk and potential, and determine it is right for them.

This is just one point of view from an average investor; I'm not an oilman...>>
