I was building a line years ago that had about 6 SKU's (products) and we rolled it out to 100's of specialty stores only to see minimal sales the first couple months... When you're the "new product" you aren't going to get the best shelf space (eye level).
When we added a display rack to the line and ran a promotion where a dealer would get a free rack for X amount in sales/purchases, we saw sales increase dramatically at each location that set one up.
Think about it... How often do you check out the racks at the end of the isles when you are at the grocery store(get your mind out of the gutter lol), WHETHER YOU WANT TO OR NOT? Even if you're running in for a second to grab MILK you notice them... If the product was hidden on the shelf you would never notice it, unless you were "combing" the isles.
The presence is dramaticly enhanced with a rack. Especially when its a product EVERYBODY CAN USE.
Everybody has stains! Everybody cleans!
