Carbon Aerogel
Aerogels are solid-state nanostructured composites that rank among the world’s lowest density solids. They have a remarkably high surface area and are very porous and light. Carbon aerogels are electrically conductive and have very high porosity with pore diameters ranging from 2 to 50nm, and extremely high surface areas ranging between 400-1000 m2 per gram. This technology has broad potential in a number of clean technologies, including fuel cell, ultracapacitor, emissions control, hydrogen production and storage, and solar power applications.
