If Plame wanted to maintain her covert status, she would have done what commonsense dictates, remain inconspicuous. Attempting to embarass the administration by sending a Democratic operative husband to answer a vice presidential request for information is not being inconspicuous. Indeed, Plame made political contributions to Democrats under her covert name, Valerie Plame.
