Thomas Scozzafava confirmed to board of Power Authority.

Mar. 1--ALBANY -- The state Senate has confirmed Thomas Scozzafava to an unpaid, two-year term on the New York Power Authority's Board of Trustees.

Mr. Scozzafava, younger brother of Assemblywoman Dierdre K. Scozzafava, R-Gouverneur, fills the seat vacated by Timothy S. Carey, who resigned in September to become NYPA's president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Scozzafava is the chief financial officer and treasurer/director of WiseBuys Stores, which he founded in 2002. The company has stores in Gouverneur, Canton, Pulaski, Tupper Lake and Hamilton.

The Senate also confirmed the appointment of Syracuse attorney Robert E. Moses to a two-year term as a NYPA trustee.

Mr. Moses is a member of the Bond, Shoeneck & King law firm.
