Canton WiseBuys to have Cardsmart shop.

May 5--CANTON -- The Canton WiseBuys will be the first of the company's five stores to include a Cardsmart shop within its walls.

Cardsmart, Pawtucket, R.I., is a national chain of franchised and company-owned stores that offer consumers half-off greeting cards. WiseBuys will also open Cardsmart outlets in its stores in Hamilton, Tupper Lake, Pulaski and Gouverneur, Chief Financial Officer Thomas W. Scozzafava said.

The Cardsmart store in WiseBuys in Canton will open this week. A more formal grand opening ceremony will be scheduled in June.

WiseBuys bills itself as a mall without walls because each of its stores includes a Payless ShoeSource inside and a KB Toys. Selected WiseBuys have RadioShack stores.

"Cardsmart and WiseBuys have similar market strategies and we are excited about our long-term alliance," Cardsmart Vice President of Franchise Development Frank Feely said in a statement.
