NSOM Challenge


ALY
Beaten down, perhaps due to weak NG market. They have 50/50 exposure to oil and NG and 20% of their sales is international drilling. Currently selling for under 11 trailing PE and under 9 next year projected PE. I expect positive earnings surprise. Excellent management.


BTJ
Beaten down, perhaps due to exclusion from IBD 100. 70% international sales, main competitor is one of the largest customers. Excellent historical growth. Heavily shorted, I don’t expect positive price movement till Sep Q results are announced.


CS.TO
Copper, Zinc, Lead. Opened new mine in time. Increasing production, could double capacity by the end of ‘07. Long reserve life. Company has been buying back shares. Excellent management.


GRP
Manufactures and sells drilling products and services, roller cone drill bits and synthetic diamond, drill bits, and tubular technology and services globally. Has been increasing sales by 20% and income by 30%. Selling at 13.3 trailing PE and little over 11 next year projected PE.


MTW
Global leader in commercial grade cranes. Sales increased 36% and EPS 120% last quarter. Backlog up sequentially. Recently opened new manufacturing facility in china. Currently selling for 21 PE trailing and 15 projected for next year. Strong international demand should bode well for results for next few years.


TEX
Manufactures equipment for construction, infrastructure, quarrying, mining, shipping, transportation, refining, and utility industries worldwide. Selling for around 19 trailing and under 13 next years projected earnings. Has consistently beaten estimates, and I expect them to do the same for Sep quarter. Here is their last quarter’s ER:
