IMHO, it makes little sense, if they have a stunning deal in the wings, to announce financials. If they announced, not only would they end the quiet period (DUH!!), but they would also have to turn around and update them if the deal that is in the wings is as big as rumored. So, lets say they made X amount to report right now, and the deal would actually build up their balance sheet to... at lest say 5X for the sake of argument. Well, in such a case, they will never report financials prior to the closing of the deal. It would simply make no sense whatsoever.
