Re BWLD earnings miss...The 'analyst estimate' enigma is the subject of Alex Berenson's book The Number: How the Drive for Quarterly Earnings Corrupted Wall Street and Corporate America.

It's available off the shelf in most bookstores and is a great read about the "cult" of making quarterly accountiong reports conform to shareholder's and analysts expectations.

Really a great and easy read with wicked relevance for anyone trading...
