Charts - How to include them in posts.

Please remember this is an Insider Trading forum. We're interested in information and charts about Insider Trading. Mostly it's for Canadian stocks, but any examples we can all learn from will be welcome.

Most of the charts I will use in my posts are from http://www.stockcharts.com

I create and annotate the charts and save them to one of my Favorites Lists.

Then with a posting window open here at iHub, I go to StockCharts.com and I click on the Message Board Link either beside or below the chart depending on which view I'm using. I'm usually using the ChartBook view.

A window pops open asking whether this site allows images to be displayed. I click OK.

Then follow the directions in the pop up link window.
i.e. Use Ctrl+C to save the link and Ctrl+V to paste the link into my post here at iHub.

In the following examples I've inserted ** symbols. Your link should not have these ** symbols. They are included here because otherwise the chart would appear and not the code used to place the chart.

This is what you get when you paste the link here.

<img src="http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SharpChartv05.ServletDriver?chart=WRM.TO%2Cuu%5Bw%2Ca%5D">...

You must then remove the <img src="http://
at the start and replace it with
[**chart]
without those **s.

At the end of the link, you must replace the
">
with
[**/chart]
again without the **s.

You should get something like this-

[**chart]stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SharpChartv05.ServletDriver?chart=WRM.TO%2Cuu%5Bw%2Ca%5D[**/chart]

without the **s.

Sometimes, the chart you've then included in your post won't appear in the iHub Preview window, but will show correctly when you submit the post.

Nobody is going mind some trial and error here, so if you have access to charts, go ahead and try it.
