With ECCI, My Return Call From DVN…

In following up on my return phone call from DVN, Jackie Hardwig from DVN returned my phone call. She then told me that her area is too broad to give me any kind of exact info in which I was searching for. She said that she would need to pass me on to their land guy named Steve Kistler.

Steve and I had a great conversation. I asked Steve if he knew that there was a company there in the Barnett Share area within the Ft. Worth Basin that was there to extract/treat water for DVN. He said that there is a company up here to do that, but he can’t quite recall what the name of the company was. I told him that the CEO had very vaguely tried to explain to me what it is that their “patented process” do and why it is so important, but I didn’t fully understand so I asked if he could explain it to me what it is that this other company do to be so important to DVN. He said sure.

He told me that water is used to track the wells. He said there have been many major droughts and many lakes that had gone dry. He said that the water that was found had too much salinity in it. He that this company is used to treat the water to a level to where it is still “maybe” not potable, but is able to be used before they can start their drilling.

He told me that they shoot holes into a pipe into the end of the rock perforation to create what are known as fractures within the rock. These little breaks or cracks or fractures in the rock are created by the high pressure water that has already been treated by the company. The gas is trapped behind the rock. These fractures from the treated water are what allow the gas to escape to be recovered. He said that they gas escapes after they reclaim the water from creating the fractures.

He was careful too to not mention ECCI, but he explained fully their process and importance to DVN. DVN can’t make billions until after ECCI treats the water for them to create fractures in the rock to allow for the gas to escape.

I asked if he could get me to the person that actually hired this company. He said that this is a very large operation and that it was probably one of the Drillers or Engineers that actually hired them and he would have no way of knowing who coordinated what with whom. He did say that he knows of the process of what the company is there to do, but he just can’t quite remember the name of the company. Please, form your own opinion.
